Die Parkplatzsuche verursacht Kosten, Gesundheitsschäden, Umweltschäden und Zeitverlust, wenn auch gering im Einzelfall, so doch in großem Ausmaß für eine Region. Allein in einem besonders verkehrsreichen Stadtteil New Yorks verursacht die Parkplatzsuche eine zusätzliche Fahrstrecke von 600.000 km jährlich.[1] In einem kleinen Geschäftsviertel von Los Angeles werden jährlich 180.000 l Benzin nur für die Parkplatzsuche verwendet, welche dabei zu 730 t CO2 verbrannt werden. 100 Jahre Emil Löwe Hamburg – Glückwunsch!

Wer in Hamburg Fahrrad fährt kennt die Aufkleber von Emil Löwe. Lange bevor kommerzielle Streetart/Stickerkampagnen durch die Innenstädte geflastert wurden, klebte an nahezu jedem Ampelpfosten das kleine Wappen mit dem Löwen und dem Fahrrad. Den Laden kannte ich deswegen übrigens trotzdem nicht ;). Happy Birthday zum 100sten!
