Cloud Rock La Belle has been stoned for the last 40 years. Psychedelic drugs and absolute freedom are, for him, religious beliefs. Long estranged from his son Kaleo, the two men reconnect for a grueling 500-mile bike tour across the Pacific Northwest. A father himself, Kaleo is eager to move past his feelings of resentment, forgive his father, and come to understand the innate love that exists between father and son. In a confrontation of the past, these two men struggle to forge a future. Can they see beyond their polar-opposite values and philosophies? Can a son forgive a father who’s not asking for forgiveness? BEYOND THIS PLACE is a complex and emotionally dense film about family, forgiveness, and the arduous task of moving forward. – Lynne Crocker | Hot Docs Film Festival
“Cycle Me Home” is a very nice road movie project made by Hungarian and Spanish film students. Levi, after finishing his Erasmus semester in Madrid, is going back to his home, Budapest by bike, and his classmates from both schools are following him, filming his experiences on the coast of France or in the hills of Italy.

The CineMuro association are organising in close cooporation with the ADFC association Leipzig a „mobile cinema tour“ by bike. For that reason they are looking for interesting movies who deal with issues like mobility and cycling.
What happens to an impoverished developing nation town when you flood it with 20,000 bicycles? You lift three times that number of people out of poverty. Pedals for Progress and founder David Schweidenback have been shipping used American bicycles to Rivas, Nicaragua for the last two decades and the transformation has been incredible.
“As you’ll see in this film, The Bicing Story, one of several we are doing on bike share around the world, the people looking after cycling in that city, have thought it all through and acted upon it too”
(Mike Rubbo, situp-cycle.com)
Nuff said.
It’s all about visibility and promoting cycling as a safe mode. Unfortunately some persons don’t get this.
We wrote about this some time ago in 2009 check (german post-sorry).
